Meeting to consider the 2022 American Rescue Plan Act Grant Award Contract Agreement Extension.

Notice is hereby given that the Houlton Water Company (HWC) will hold a special meeting of the directors on Friday December 8th, 2023 at 12:00 P.M., at the HWC offices located at 21 Bangor Street, Houlton, Maine.

Following the executive session, the Board will return to the public meeting, which will be open to the public and all ratepayers or other interested parties wishing to attend.

The Houlton Water Company (HWC) is accepting applications for the position of
Accountant. HWC is seeking a qualified individual with a BS degree in accounting as
well as 2-3 years’ experience in financial reporting. The candidate will be required but
not limited to do the following tasks; maintain general ledger, preparation of Financial
Statements, budgets, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable reconciliation.
Candidate will also be responsible for the preparation and processing of company
payroll. The applicant must have a working knowledge of all Microsoft computer
applications. Training will be provided on specific accounting software applications.
A four year BS Degree in Accounting preferred, with minimum two years experience.
Pay will be commensurate with previous education and work experience. This
position is covered by a full benefits package. Work hours are normally 5 days a week
from 7:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. with weekends and holidays off.

Notice of Power Outage – May 15th

 Outage Notice for May 15, 2020

On May 15th at 1:00am the Houlton Water Company will be taking a system wide outage to switch from the Emera Maine Transmission system to the New Brunswick Power Transmission System.  We anticipate that the outage will last no more than 3 hours and the bulk of customer are expected to have power restored by 4:00 am on May 15th.  It is important to note that this switchover is happening in the middle of the night, early Friday morning, to limit inconvenience to our customers.  HWC wants to thank its customers for its patience as we finalize the interconnection to NB Power.
